The Vintage Single 5 Plus (SV5+) utilizes our Fat 5™ approach in a departure from the traditional Strat® tone. Take an AlNiCo 5 frequency response, but fatten it up to the point of saturation and you have a pickup that stretches a Stratty tone to a place that is impossible to get to using conventional pickup materials. The SV5+ smooths off the rough edges and beefs up the response of the conventional tonality, yielding something we like to call “AlNiCo 5 on steroids”. The SV5+ can behave more like a conventional AlNiCo 5 with a light touch, but dig in and it responds with a reserve of power. The SV5+ makes a great bridge pickup and is featured in many or our Vintage Series Sets™.
