Zexcoil® Z-Series™ Tru-Gauge™
The Zexcoil Z-Series Tru-Gauge pickups are the most accurate to vintage specs of anything we make. Tru-Gauge pickups utilize 42 gauge coil wire and some additional Tone Tuning Technology to more closely mimic the response of conventional single-coil pickups.
ZV55™
The ZV55 utilizes 42 gauge coil wire and a unique pole piece material to more closely mimic the response of the pickup that it was modeled on from a vintage Fender Champ lap steel. The output level of the ZV55 is about 2.2 H, the same neighborhood as the earliest vintage single coil examples from the mid 50s.
ZV63™
The ZV63 is a “detuned” version of the ZVN5, utilizing 42 gauge coil wire wherever possible. The slight resistance increase lowers the Q slightly to put the specs more in line with conventional single coils. The output level of the ZV63 is the same as the ZVN5, similar to slightly hotter examples from the early and mid 60s.

Z-Series pickups have their covers potted on. Removal will void the warranty.
Cover color choice is presented at checkout.
All of our pickups are made to order and with fixed cover (pickups potted in their covers) Z-Series/Z-Core models, orders placed will be built with covers selected at checkout and color changes will be subject to a $10 restock fee, $25.00 for a set of three.
